It focuses on Shiseido's bid to create "products as art".

St. Mary’s Cathedral

The present St. Mary’s Cathedral was designed by Kenzo Tange, 
was completed on December 8 1964, and it was renovated in 2007.



Kenzo Tange is a great Japanese architect, 
he is famous for Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, 
The original wooden structure, constructed in 1899 in the Gothic style, 

was destroyed during the air raids on Tokyo during World War II.

Paul Smith Exhibition in National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto

仕事の関係もあり、ポール・スミス展へ行ってきました。

ロンドンから始まった展覧会はヨーロッパのいくつかの都市を巡回した後、

日本では京都で最初に開催されることになりました。
このあと、名古屋と東京にも巡回します。

私は、6月4日の初日に行きましたが、若い人から年配の人まで様々な年代の人達が訪れていました。
ポール・スミスの発想の源や、どのようにしてブランドを立ち上げていったのか、
どのようにして服飾品が作られていくのかなど、
映像やスタジオの再現などを通して紹介されて行きます。

ポールにとって、カメラはライフワークのようなものです。
ポールの父はアマチュアカメラマンで、ポールも若い頃から写真に親しんできました。
カメラは決定的な瞬間を永遠に残すことができます。
デザイナーにとってモノを観察することは重要なことです。

そこからインスピレーションが生まれます。

"見る"ものだけではなく、
"目に映る"もの、そうしたあらゆるものが発想の源になっていきます。

独特のストライプ柄は糸を台紙に巻き付けて色を決めて行きます。
そうすることで、実際に織布になった時のイメージに近いものになるのです。

展覧会自体は、規模が小さく、ぱーっと廻る方は30分もあれば十分かもしれないですね。
驚きを与えたいというユーモアのあるポールの遊び心と英国の歴史や伝統の中から生まれる、ひねりの効いたクラシックなポール・スミスの世界。

Beautiful nature in Taipei 七星山【台湾】

I went to Qixing Mountain, Beitou District in Taipei city.
Qixing Mountain is located on the Datun Volcano Group.
And it located in the Yangmingshan National Park and its main peak is 1,120 metres (3,675 ft) above sea level.

It's near by the center of Taipei, it's easy to access by bus.
I heard that it's not hard to climb this mountain, however there're uncountable stairs to the top, it was hard for me..
However, I could see many squirrels in the forest and view from the top of the mountain was very beautiful!

It's coverd with the mist, I could feel a mysterious atomospher.
You can see Taipei city if it's nice weather.

Chiu Fen, Taipei 九分【台湾】

I went to Chiu Fen, Taipei in the evening.

There're lots of red lanterns, it's very exotic and nostalgic landscape.

It reminds me of an image of "Spirited Away".

It's the first time to visit Taipei for me, 

I was fascinated by the scenic beauty of the spot.

 There're many tea house, you may enjoy Chinese tea in the nice atmosphere.

The town was very crowded by tourists from all over the world.
There're many small shops in the arcade. I ate Yuan(Sweet Potato balls), Cha Ye Dan (Tea leaf egg), and some local foods.

Kakkugalleria ヘルシンキのオシャレなカフェ 【フィンランド】

ヘルシンキのデザイン博物館から歩いて10分。
Kakkugalleriaという素敵なカフェがあります。

 

ショーケースに並んでいるのは、
チョコレートケーキ、ベリーなどフルーツを使った美しいケーキやクッキー。
見ているだけでワクワクします...！

おいしいケーキとかわいいティーカップにいれてもらったコーヒーを飲みながら、
ゆったり過ごせる場所です。
私はチョコレートケーキを選びました♪

店内にはデザインショップがあり、カフェはショップの一角という感じです。
このデザインショップがまた、とってもオススメ！

フィンランドの作家のアクセサリーから、ファッション、雑貨、家具まで洗練されたデザインの商品を取り揃えたセレクトショップになっており、結構広いです。
また、無料の小さなギャラリーもあるので、きっと有意義な時間を過ごせると思います。

Japanese Alps 上高地 【長野】

I went hiking in the Japanese Alps!
It's a view from Lake "Taisho" in Nagano.

The water is clear as crystal, its color is emerald blue.

This lake was formed by the eruption of Mt. Yake in 1915.
Mt.Yake is still an active volcano, earthquakes often occur.
And Mt.Ontake, one of Japanese alps, erupted last year and many people died..

We should remember this beautiful landscape was made by great nature.
I feel awe and respect for nature...

From Nagano, you can get there by bus in a hour.
There're some direct bus from Tokyo, it takes over 6 hours in average.
Attention: holiday is very crowded, I heard that my acquaintance couldn't get there because of traffic jam!

TOKYO INTERNATIONAL FORUM くじらの体内 【東京】

TOKYO INTERNATIONAL FORUM is a international convention and performing arts center.

They have many rooms for conference and halls for exhibition, and also they have some galleries and restaurants.

It's easy to access from Tokyo Station (5minutes walk from the station.)

This building was designed by Rafael Vinoly, an american architect.
This plan was selected through international design competition,
which designers from 50 countries submitted 395 works.

I recommend you to look up the ceiling.
You might feel like you are in the body of a big whale...

Sanzenin Temple, Kyoto 三千院 【京都】

Feeling calm in rural town of Ohara, Kyoto

Sanzenin temple is famous for beautiful maple trees.
You'll enjoy its beautiful garden
not only in autumn but also in all seasons.

This temple is located in a rural town,
surrounded by mountains.
It's away from center of Kyoto,
but you can visit there by train and a local bus in a hour from Shijo.

There're a lot of old buildings in the wide grounds.
And there're many lovely "jizo"(guardian deity of children).

You may find peace and contentment.

Moomin World ムーミンワールド 【フィンランド】

日本でムーミンは大人気！

2017年には埼玉に期間限定でムーミンワールドが開園するそうですね。

今回は、フィンランドのムーミンワールドを
紹介したいと思います。

ムーミンをあまり知らない方も、
フィンランドの自然を満喫できるのでオススメです。

フィンランド人の客層は、
幼稚園の子供が圧倒的に多いのですが、
大人でも美しい景色とムーミンの世界を楽しめます。

園内では、物語からそのまま飛び出してきたかのような（本当に！）
キャラクター達が迎えてくれます。

物語に忠実にキャラクターになりきっているので、
お客さんに愛想を振る舞ったりあんまりしません・・。
そこがまた良いと思います。

本当にムーミンの世界に来たような気分になれるからです。

アスレチックで遊びながらまわるようになっています。
ゆらゆら橋や山を登ったり・・・。
童心に帰って楽しみましょう。

園内にはアイスクリームや軽食を食べれる
スタンドがあります。

私は、家からサンドイッチを持ってきたので
湖畔でゆっくり食べました。
椅子やテーブルが置いてあるので安心です。

私のようにピクニックをしていた家族連れも多かったです。

ムーミンワールドはNaantali（ナーンタリ）という
フィンランドの南西の町にあります。

ただ、冬に特別に開園するときがあります。

■Naantaliへの行き方

Turku（トゥルク）からバスが出ています。

Helsinki（ヘルシンキ）からTurkuへ行くには、
電車(VR)か高速バスを使います。

TurkuからNaantaliへのバスの種類は2種類。

1.Moomin Bus(往復€13：市街中心部のホテルとTurku港から運行)と

2.路線バス(市街中心部の広場KauppatoriからNo.6かNo.7, 7Aのバス往復約€6)

が出ています。

時刻表はHPで確認できます。

■ムーミンワールド

路線バスの場合、Naantaliのバスロータリー、Tullinaukioに到着したら、

タクシーか徒歩でムーミンワールド(港の方面)へ向かいます。

旧市街からはMoomin Trainが出ており、それに乗ればムーミンワールドに連れて行ってくれるようですが。私は、歩いて向かいました。徒歩20分程度。

ただ、標識が少なく、人もまばらなので注意です。

地図をよく見ましょう。

素敵な、ムーミン一家のようなお家がたくさんあるので
見ながら行くのも楽しいですが、ムーミンのキャラクターなどは見かけません。
のんびりして、こじんまりとした良い町です。

港まで行くと、近くにムーミンワールドへのゲートと
島につながる白い桟橋が見えてきます。
ムーミンワールドへ入場です！

Summer in the countryside

I love summer the best out of the four seasons.
Especially, countryside is very beautiful in summer.

There's rich nature there.

Every summer I come back to my grandma's home.

Rice paddy

I get up early in the morning, and I go to a balcony.

I can see a lush green mountain with many trees backside,

and a vast paddy field in front of me.

Deep Forest

After shower raining, flogs sing happily.
I can hear a clear-toned cicada and crickets'chirping in the evening.

August Strawberry - 8月のいちご 【フィンランド】

フィンランドでは、夏はいちごの季節です。

8月には町の広場にいちごを売る店がたくさん軒を連ねます。
フィンランドのいちごは丸くて小さいサイズで、
とても熟したもの(熟しすぎくらい!) がお店に並びます。

パックに山盛りにされたいちごは、
そのまま手提げのビニール袋に入れて持って帰ります。
・・・が、よっぽど気をつけて持って帰らないと、
家に着く頃には、袋の中でつぶれてジュースみたいになってしまいます。
甘くてやさしい味がします。

つぶしてジュースやジャムにしてみたり。
いちごみるくにしてみたり。
お砂糖をかけてみたり。

お砂糖のパッケージには白いお砂糖の中に埋まったいちごが描かれています。
素敵ですね。

マリメッコにもMaija Isolaが1967年にデザインしたいちご柄のパターンがあります。

フィンランド人にとって、

いちごは特別な存在です。

Godzilla in Shinjuku 【東京】

In 2015, Godzilla appeared in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

This building has movie theaters, hotel and restaurants.

And if you stay at a special room in this hotel,
you can see Godzilla from window!
