Sanzenin Temple, Kyoto 三千院 【京都】

Feeling calm in rural town of Ohara, Kyoto

Sanzenin temple is famous for beautiful maple trees.
You'll enjoy its beautiful garden
not only in autumn but also in all seasons.

This temple is located in a rural town,
surrounded by mountains.
It's away from center of Kyoto,
but you can visit there by train and a local bus in a hour from Shijo.

There're a lot of old buildings in the wide grounds.
And there're many lovely "jizo"(guardian deity of children).

You may find peace and contentment.

1. Le Petit Mec　ル・プチメック

-Sandwiches, Bagel, Sweets

They have 3 shops in Kyoto; Imadegawa, Oike and Shijo.

京都に3店あります。：今出川、御池、四条

・Imadegawa 

The main store is on Imadegawa Street, they have cafeteria, too.

But they open the store only 3days in a week ; Fri, Sat and Sun.

Bus: 2 minutes from Imadegawa Omiya
第一号店。赤い外観の店舗が目印です。店内にはカフェも併設されており、このお店の雰囲気を堪能できます。

・Oike

They open everyday. It's smaller than Imadegawa store. 

They have some outside tables.

Subway: 3minutes from Karasuma Oike Station
二号店。お店の外にテラス席があります。店内は少し狭く、品数もやや少ないですが
四条からも近いのでちょっと立ち寄ってみてもいいですね！

・Shijo

It's in the Kyoto Daimaru Department. They have cafeteria, too.

They open everyday. You can buy all kinds of bread!

Subway: 1 minute from Shijo
大丸京都店のデパ地下にありますが、イートインスペースもあり、品数も豊富です！

2. Boulangerie de la Liberte　ブーランジェリー・デ・ラ・リベルテ

New Year's Celebration 新年の祝い菓子 ますね 【京都】

Happiness in a small box

This is one of Japanese traditional confectionery for celebrating the New Year.

I bought a box contains Rakugan (dry confection) and jelly.

Each shapes are inspired by nature or lucky charms: 
Mt.Fuji, plum, bamboo, daffodil, bag of rice and so on.

Usually, they are in a beautiful paper box like this picture.
Many wishes are in this small box.
I always feel as if I opened a treasure box!

I bought this at "Masune", Kyoto.
It's on Sanjyo Street near Teramachi Street. 
How about visiting there when you go to Nishiki Market?
